Demo Walkthrough

The Sovereign Tower demo on Steam covers Act 0 (prologue) and Act 1, including the branching Groveshire and Gavault main quests. Wild Wits and Curve Games use the preview to teach the full daily loop — audience, exploration, Round Table — while teasing Demon rewinds, annex upgrades, and eccentric knights ahead of the August 6, 2026 solo PC launch.

This walkthrough is the chronological spine. Branch-specific detail lives on Act 0, Groveshire, and Gavault pages; secret knight hunts have dedicated Goose Quest and Beast Hunt guides.

Before you start

Install the demo from Steam and skim How to Play Sovereign Tower so UI labels feel familiar. Keep these wiki pages nearby:

Optional: bookmark the Knight Quest Matcher and Faction Balance Tracker for live runs.

Act 0: first days as Sovereign

Act 0 is the playable prologue added in the Next Fest demo update. Arlin walks you through coronation fantasy with real consequences: you meet the Lady of the Tower, learn petitioners arrive each morning, and unlock your first movement between throne room, corridors, and crypt hints.

Goals in Act 0:

  • Complete tutorial audiences without angering every faction at once.
  • Recruit or confirm your starter knights — typically Angelica, Gwendan, Ursula, Gideon, and Goberto appear early.
  • Visit the Lady and note which annex slots she mentions; you will return after recruiting servants.
  • Listen for Demon crypt dialogue even if you do not rewind yet — Time Rewind becomes essential for secrets like Brunhilda.

Do not rush annex spending. Act 0 teaches pacing; overspending before you see a quest card’s stat spread wastes early Treasury goodwill. See the dedicated Act 0 walkthrough for beat-by-beat dialogue flags.

Transition into Act 1

After the prologue, the demo opens Act 1 proper. You will choose or be directed toward a main regional storyline — Groveshire (forest-adjacent diplomacy and Wit checks) or Gavault (martial and intrigue-heavy quests). Both paths introduce new knights, courier quests, and secrets tied to the updated demo patch notes on Steam.

When the branch choice appears, pick the theme you prefer; Demon rewinds let curious players sample the other route later. Document your choice in the Faction Balance Tracker if you plan multiple rewinds — faction deltas are easy to forget.

Act 1 daily rhythm

Each Act 1 day repeats the management spine:

  1. Audience — accept, defer, or reject petitions. Bathhouse Goose rumors start here; see Goose Quest when the crisis goes live.
  2. Explore — talk to knights, Lady of the Tower, annex staff, and the Intendant if unlocked. Annexes convert resources into items that soften hard quests.
  3. Round Table — assign knights to every active quest card. Match Strength, Agility, Charisma, Magic, and Wit thresholds; respect personality tags (Angelica likes diplomacy, Ursula dislikes it, Goberto likes hunts).

Failed assignments are not always game-over — they hurt factions and knight morale — but they can lock secret routes until you rewind.

Optional demo highlights

Goose Quest chain

The invading Bathhouse Goose is both comedy and recruitment tech. Two quest stages with different knight sends unlock Chester when you read Arlin’s clues about horses, cheese, or shining eggs. Full steps: Goose Quest walkthrough.

Beast Hunt

A roaming beast quest accepts multiple solutions. Angelica can unlock Sparky; non-Angelica sends with magical traces recruit Rufus; killing the beast yields Silgur. Details: Beast Hunt walkthrough.

Brunhilda and advanced rewinds

Brunhilda does not appear in a standard goose or beast route. Players rewind to day 3 via the Demon, confront Mathilda’s rebellion thread, and align with Brunhilda on day 4. Follow How to Get Brunhilda after you finish one Act 1 branch so you understand rewind costs.

After the demo ends

The preview stops before the full kingdom arc — dragon knights, deeper regions, and romance routes teased in trailers remain for launch. Wishlist the main Steam app and watch Release and Demo for patch diffs that might rename quests or stats.

When the full game arrives, reuse this demo walkthrough as a onboarding path: the loop stays the same even as content widens. Upgrade knowledge with Kingdom Map and Knight Tier List once your roster expands beyond demo limits.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How long is the Sovereign Tower demo?

Expect several hours for Act 0 plus one Act 1 branch, longer if you chase [Goose Quest](/walkthrough/goose-quest/) and [Beast Hunt](/walkthrough/beast-hunt/) secrets or practice Demon rewinds.

Should I pick Groveshire or Gavault first?

Pick whichever theme you prefer — diplomacy and forest problems versus martial intrigue. Use branch walkthroughs for specifics; rewinds let you sample the other path later.

Can I get every secret knight in one demo run?

Many players combine one linear run with targeted rewinds. Chester, Sparky, Rufus, and Silgur have different quest conditions; Brunhilda needs a separate rewind plan from [How to Get Brunhilda](/guides/get-brunhilda/).

Does the demo include YouTube-spoiler content?

This page avoids video embeds so it does not duplicate [How to Play](/guides/how-to-play/). For annex footage, see [Annexes and Crafting](/systems/annexes/) which includes official Lady of the Tower clips.

Will demo progress carry to the full game?

Treat demo saves as practice. Confirm any transfer policy on [Release and Demo](/review/release-demo/) near launch — most previews do not carry over.
