Sovereign Tower Knight Tier List

Tier lists in Sovereign Tower are never pure damage charts. Wild Wits designed a story-rich Round Table management RPG where faction mood, Intendant secrets, and Demon rewinds matter as much as raw stats. Still, the demo covering Act 0 and Act 1 shows repeatable patterns: certain knights clear more quest checks with fewer failures, while secret recruits justify spoiler routes when you chase stability before the August 6, 2026 PC launch.

This tier list ranks knights for solo demo progression on Windows, macOS, and SteamOS. Positions assume you understand Knight Stats and read full quest cards on the Round Table. Update your personal list after unlocks — see the Roster and Secret Knights pages.

Tier list criteria

We score knights on:

• Quest coverage — how many Act 0 and Act 1 cards they qualify for across Strength, Agility, Charisma, Magic, and Wit.
• Failure cost — faction anger, treasury loss, and story locks when they fail high-risk assignments.
• Opportunity cost — days locked on long quests while the demo timeline advances.
• Unlock difficulty — secret knights rank higher only if their route is reasonable without endless rewinds.

Tier placements are debatable. Use the Knight Quest Matcher when a quest sits between two tiers in practice.

S Tier — demo stabilizers

Gwendan

Gwendan earns top placement because Wit checks proliferate in Scholar and treasury quests, and mixed-stat cards often include a Wit line you can miss at a glance. Players report fewer “soft fail” narrative branches when Gwendan handles investigation-style Round Table entries during Act 1.

Bench when: pure Strength labor with zero Wit tag and a healthy Gideon available.

Angelica

Angelica combines Charisma with enough flexibility for early Noble and People quests that gate annex resources. She also anchors community routes toward Sparky on the Beast Hunt — a high-value secret if you prioritize that unlock.

Bench when: escort combat with heavy Strength thresholds and no social follow-up phase.

A Tier — reliable specialists

Ursula

Ursula excels on Agility-Charisma blends: covert diplomacy, fast resolution quests, and some audience previews that hint at tomorrow’s faction pressure. Slightly below Angelica because pure Wit or Magic quests sideline her more often.

Gideon

Gideon is the early Strength anchor Merchants and forge annex beats expect. He stays A tier rather than S because late Act 1 mixed checks outscale brute force — pair with Quest Success Tips.

Silgur (secret)

Silgur jumps to A tier after the Beast Hunt kill route documented in community tips. Magic coverage and strong combat-adjacent outcomes justify the spoiler cost if Mystics dominate your run. Conflicts with Sparky’s branch — plan rewinds via Time Rewind.

Brunhilda (secret)

Brunhilda lands in A tier once unlocked through Demon rewind to day 3 and the Mathilda dialogue flag — see How to Get Brunhilda. Her breadth helps recovery runs after a bad faction week.

B Tier — situational but important

Goberto

Goberto handles many early Strength quests competently but overlaps Gideon. He remains strategically critical because his death unlocks Dulahan — a B-tier combat pick that some players rush intentionally. Read Secret Knights before treating Goberto as disposable.

Rufus (secret)

Rufus shines on Magic routes when you skip Angelica and follow magical traces. Excellent in Mystic-heavy demo weeks, weaker when Scholars demand Wit instead.

Dulahan (secret)

Dulahan rewards the Goberto death route with a distinctive combat profile. Solid B tier: powerful in niche assignments, not a full roster replacement alone.

Chester (secret)

Chester arrives via goose quest choices — fun, flavorful, and useful on specific Charisma-Agility quests, but not a universal upgrade over Ursula or Angelica without targeted planning.

C Tier — limited demo utility (still story-rich)

Sparky / Wolf (secret)

Sparky occupies a contentious slot. Angelica Beast Hunt routes make Wolf accessible, but some players find other secrets outperform Wolf on raw quest coverage. Keep Sparky higher on your list if you role-play beast-heavy assignments and enjoy the character voice acting.

Note: Tier lists are not judgments on writing quality — only Round Table efficiency in the demo meta.

Knights versus tools and annexes

Tier rankings assume baseline gear. Annexes and Crafting can bump a B-tier knight into A-tier territory for one hard quest if forge weapons or alchemy buffs align. Likewise, Faction Balance may force you to send a “lower tier” knight to appease Nobles even when the Matcher favors someone else.

Recommended team compositions (demo)

Balanced Act 1: Gwendan + Angelica + Gideon covering Wit, Charisma, Strength; Ursula flex; Goberto or secret substitute for spike quests.

Mystic focus: Rufus + Gwendan + Angelica for Magic-Wit-Charisma triangles; watch Scholar happiness.

Completionist secrets: Plan one Beast Hunt outcome first (Silgur vs Sparky), then use Demon rewinds for Brunhilda and Chester goose routes.

When this tier list breaks

• Dragon Knight spike encounters — read Beat the Dragon Knight; raw tiers may lie.
• Post-rewind roster resets — knights temporarily unavailable until story catches up.
• Future patches — Curve Games and Wild Wits may rebalance stats before full release; check Release and Demo.
